2Setting Up
Setting Up Your Sampling System
Dissolution Bath
A dissolution probe kit and a packet of 40 filter tips are part of the valve and
multicell transport sampling systems.
A dissolution probe kit consists of eight fittings with a probe (25 cm, 1/8-inch
od) and union attached.
1 Cut the probes to a suitable length for your dissolution bath, if necessary.
2 Attach a filter to each probe.
3 Insert the probes into your dissolution vessels.
Attach the necessary fitting and tubing to the union, see “Connecting Multicell
System Tubing” on page 31, and “Connecting Valve System Tubing” on
page 49.

NOTE
If you are using other filters with smaller pore size than 45 µm they may reduce the flow.
Some filters, if not washed before use, release monomers that pollute the flow cell
windows and or cause air bubbles to stick in the flow cells.
