Installing Your Eight-position Multicell Transport
To install your eight-position multicell transport in the Agilent 8453
spectrophotometer, refer to your Multicell Transport for Agilent 8453
UV-visible Spectrophotometer Operator’s Manual.
Installing Your Peristaltic Pump 8VS
Each peristaltic pump 8VS is identified by a serial number on a label at the
rear. Write down the serial number of your pump here:

Installing the pump comprises three stages:
• “Stage 1: Installing the Cables” on page 28,
• “Stage 2: Installing the Pump Tubing” on page 29, and
• “Stage 3: Installing the Tubing Cassette” on page 30.
Stage 1: Installing the Cables
The voltage selector and cable connectors are at the rear panel.
1 Set the correct voltage option (115 V or 230 V) for operation from your line
power supply.
2 Check the correct fuse is installed.
3 Push connector of power cord into line-power socket.
Position 1 is at the left side of the multicell transport.
Position 8 is at the right side of the multicell transport.
Make sure line-power cord is disconnected before changing line-voltage setting.
