Using the Peristaltic Pumps 1VS and 8VS 3
Servicing Your Pump
Remote Cable Connector
To check the remote function manually:
1 Remove the peristaltic pump remote cable from the remote connector on
the rear of the pump.
2 Turn on the pump.
3 Do not allow the pump to operate:
a Select no direction for pumping by switching to the middle position.
b Set the flow control switch to a value greater than zero.
4 Using a piece of wire connect:
• Pin 3 to pin 1 (ground) for counterclockwise pumping.
• Pin 3 and pin 4 to pin 1 (ground) for clockwise pumping.
Wiring of Peristaltic Pump Remote Cable
The remote cable for the peristaltic pump 1VS is a shielded cable with a 9-pin
connector for the valve-pump controller and a 15-pin male connector for the
pump. The remote cable for the peristaltic pump 8VS is a shielded cable with a
15-pin connector for the GP-IO connector at the Agilent 8453
spectrophotometer, and a 15-pin male connector for the pump.
To check the wiring of the remote cable:
1 Remove the remote cable from the remote connector at the rear of the
pump.
For peristaltic pump 1VS—remove the remote cable from the valve-pump
controller.
For peristaltic pump 8VS—remove the remote cable from the GP-IO
connector at the Agilent 8453 spectrophotometer.
