Volume Calibration
The Agilent 850-DS uses a syringe pump to deliver accurate volumes from 0.1
mL to 14.0 mL. A volume calibration function is available to compensate for
pump delivery speed, tubing length, and media viscosity. Volume accuracy is a
function of pump speed and aspiration dwell time. To improve volume accuracy,
try using slower pump speeds. The pump speed and aspiration dwell time are set
on the second Instrument Settings screen. See “Instrument Settings Screen 2” on
page 74..
NOTE
Agilent recommends calibrating using a volume of 10 mL. If that
does not provide acceptable performance, you may perform a
calibration at the typical sample collection volume. Although the
Agilent 850-DS can dispense volumes as low as 0.1 mL, it is not
recommended to calibrate with volumes less than 2 mL.
