Setting Up the PL-GPC 220
Starting the Instrument
1 Switch on the solvent delivery module and wait until the alarm stops
sounding.
2 Ensure a capped vial is placed in the carousel before powering up the
instrument and the carousel is pushed fully in.
3 Switch on the main unit.
Again the beep will sound while the system initializes.
During the initialization process, the instrument will perform the following
tests:
• Test the buzzer
• Initialize the pump
• Initialize the oven
• Initialize the autosampler
• Find zero vial
• Raise vial into the oven
• Purge the syringe
• Lower the vial
• Reset the syringe to the mid position
• Toggle the injection valve 3 times
When the inialization process has completed, the instrument should be left
in the STANDBY (red light) mode with the pump and heaters off.
4 Launch the PL-GPC 220 Control software from the control PC.
5 Replace the columns by a barrel connector.
NOTE
When the instrument is first installed, this alarm may sound for up to 2 min while the vapor
sensor heats up.
