7 Maintenance
Autosampler
Lubricate Autosampler Syringe (not applicable to serial controlled
A/S systems)
1 Pull out the A/S carousel drawer to its maximum position to gain access to
the syringe assembly beneath it.
2 Reach in over the top of the extended carousel and with both hands lift the
syringe from its mounting. Disconnect it from the Luer lock needle
assembly.
3 If the syringe is contaminated with solvent, wash it out with acetone and
dry.
4 Place a couple of drops of silicone oil into the barrel of the syringe and
replace the plunger.
5 Work the plunger up and down the barrel a few times to thoroughly
disperse the oil.
6 Reconnect the syringe to the tubing and relocate in the mounting.
7 Return the A/S drawer to its normal operating position.
