6-4 | Model 933S UV Analyzer
Analyzer Preventive Maintenance Schedule
To reduce the occurrence of problems with the analyzer follow this sched-
ule, which lists the frequency of maintenance required when caring for
the analyzer. Since most analyzer problems originate within the sample
system, the primary objective of this schedule is proper care of the sample
system.
Frequency Component/Task
Every 6 Months Zero Gas Cylinder
Check the Zero Gas cylinder and replace it if empty/nearly empty.
Every 6 Months Sheltered Systems
If the analyzer is installed in a custom shelter, check the air lters
for the shelter purge and air conditioning systems, and replace if
necessary.
Depending on the environmental conditions of the site, more
frequent lter replacement may be necessary.
9–12 Months Source Lamps
Replace the source lamps.
The lamps may require replacement sooner if analyzer alarms
are set (“w: ALC out of range”, “w: PMT signal out of range”,
w: Excessive zero drift”, or “f: Lamp Failure”). See “Source
Lamp Replacement” and “Troubleshooting and Diagnostics” in this
chapter.
Every Year Measuring Cell
Replace the o-rings (and Cell Windows, if required) and clean the
interior surfaces to remove any contaminants.
This schedule is a minimum requirement. If other conditions are
found to be present, as discussed in “Measuring Cell Maintenance,”
more frequent cleaning may be required.
Every Year * Filterblock Assembly (Optional)
Replace the o-rings, Filter Cartridges, Membrane Filters, and
Flow Restrictors. Clean the interior surfaces to remove any
contaminants.
* In natural gas streams that are extremely dirty, the Flow
Restrictor in the rst lter stage (and possibly the second lter
stage) may need to be changed more often because it removes
most of the liquids and particulate from the gas.
See “Natural Gas Filterblock Maintenance” in this chapter.
Every 2 Years Column Block Assembly
Replace the Check Valves, Filter, Flow Restrictors, and o-rings.
Clean the interior surfaces of each section to remove contaminants.
The Column Assemblies need to be replaced only if they are
damaged due to liquids or severe contamination.
See “Column Block Maintenance” in this chapter.
