5. Optional: If using the Optical Bench Purge, connect the purge line
(black tube) to the Purge Fitting on the Optical Bench.
After the Optical Bench has been installed, use a soft, nonabrasive
cloth to gently clean the joining areas (flamepath) of the Upper Enclo-
sure and its door. Close the door and replace at least one of the M10
screws while completing the installation. This will ensure the flame-
path is not inadvertently damaged.
Installing the Sample System
The analyzer is supplied with fittings for Sample, Vent, and Zero gas line
connections (Figure 3-3). The typical the Sample Inlet/Vent Outlet con-
nections are on the Filterblock. For systems without the Filterblock, the
Sample Inlet connection is at the Sample Gas Pressure Regulator, while
the Vent Outlet connection is at the Rotameter.
Ensure all appropriate fuses are removed before terminating any wir-
ing. Refer to the Fuse Legend on the inside of the analyzer’s Lower
Enclosure for locations of these fuses.
Installing the Sample Probe
If the Sample Probe is supplied by AMETEK, refer to Sample Probe draw-
ings in Appendix A for important installation information.
Installing the Sample and Vent Lines
The Sample and Vent Lines are supplied by the customer. The tubing
(Sample, 1/8”; Vent, 1/4”) must be 316 stainless steel tubing with appropri-
ate NPT connectors. The typical Vent Line configuration is to disperse the
used sample gas to atmosphere.
Refer to the analyzer Block Diagram and Plumbing Schematic drawings in
Chapter 1 or Appendix A for important installation information.
For systems without the Filterblock installed, AMETEK recommends
installing a coalescing or membrane filter upstream of the Measuring
Cell.
The inlet sample pressure should be 560 KPAG (80 PSIG) or higher.
The Vent Line should vent to atmospheric pressure or < 0.5 PSI.
