Methodology
Non-dispersive ultraviolet analysis for measurement of hydrogen sulfide
(H
2
S), carbonyl sulfide (COS), and methyl mercaptan (MeSH) in sales
quality (pipeline quality) natural gas. Frontal elution chromatography is
used to remove interfering species from the sample gas.
Full-Scale Ranges
The standard customer range is defined as full-scale ranges that fall with-
in the minimum and maximum allowable for a given Measuring Cell. The
specifications apply only to these ranges, are typical, and in some cases
application-specific. Calculations of minimum and maximum are based on
atmospheric pressure.
Standard Range Measuring Cells (40 cm or Smaller)
Maximum ranges are based on Measuring Cell length (expressed in cm).

S Standard Range: 4,000 / (Cell length) Minimum ranges are 1/4 of
maximum ranges.
COS Standard Range: 20,000 / (Cell length) Minimum ranges are 1/5 of
maximum ranges.
MeSH Standard Range: 10,000 / (Cell length) Minimum ranges are 1/5 of
maximum ranges.
Low Range Measuring (White) Cell Option (81.2 cm)

S: 0–5 PPM minimum and 0–50 PPM maximum.
COS: 0–25 PPM minimum and 0–250 PPM maximum.
MeSH: 0–15 PPM minimum and 0–100 PPM maximum.
