6. Partially open the case and carefully disconnect the ribbon cable that connects the Spectrum Analyzer
Assembly to the Main PCB Assembly. The cable is attached between the two sides of the
Spectrum Master.
7. The Spectrum Master can now be fully opened and laid flat.
8. Carefully remove the 3 connectors at the bottom of the Main PCB Assembly. Note the cable routing in the
cable retainer and the location where each cable is connected.
9. The two halves of the instrument can now be safely separated (Figure 5-4). Refer to the following sections
of this chapter to remove and replace specific components of the instrument.
10. Reverse the above steps to reassemble the case.
