Warning AOA (Yellow Black Cross Hatch)
When the pointer is in the Yellow color band, the AOA is at a high / critical AOA and the
aircraft could stall if the AOA increases further. Under this condition a stall is imminent,
and the pilot should maneuver to lower the AOA (pitch DOWN or speed up). The stall
margin is much less than the short field approach stall margin
1
.
Top of Yellow - Black Cross Hatch
Margin to actual stall is extremely small
NOTE
Reducing flaps while in a Caution or borderline
Warning “Flaps DOWN” AOA state may result in a
dangerous AOA condition.
NOTE
The AOA system is non-required and is to be used
only as supplemental information to the pilot. The
AOA system may not be used as a substitution for the
certified aircraft stall warning system.
