7.2 Placing a Call On Hold
You can place a call on hold in order to answer an incoming call (see Section 7.1 on page 55) or
to make another call. The party put on hold will hear music played (Music on Hold (MOH)).
Ø To place a call on hold:
Accept an incoming call and then press the HOLD key on the keypad or press the Hold
softkey; the call is put on hold:
Ø To retrieve a call on hold:
Press the HOLD key again -or- press the Resume softkey.
Note: When using the handset in a call, if the handset is on-hooked after putting the call on
hold, the call is not disconnected and the audio is switched to the speaker. For the call to be
disconnected, as it was in earlier versions, refer to your network administrator.
7.3 Calling a Contact Listed in the Directory
You can call a contact from your directory.
Ø To call a contact from the directory:
1. Press the CONTACTS key on the keypad, navigate to and select Personal directory.
2. Navigate to the contact to call (see Section 5.13.5 on page 42 for how to quickly locate a
contact).
3. Press the Dial softkey or the OK key.
7.4 Using a Speed Dial to Place a Call
To define key (1-9) as a Speed Dial, see Section 5.15 on page 44.
Ø To use a Speed Dial to place a call:
Long-press the key (1-9) on the keypad which you defined as a Speed Dial; the phone dials
the defined phone number of the contact.
Note: If you long-press a key which has not been defined as a Speed Dial, the LCD displays
screen Speed Dial # enabling you to define a Speed Dial.
