4-4 Departure
COOL FEATURE
Depiction of Traffic When connected to a traffic
sensor, all traffic alerts and proximity alerts are
depicted on the HSI view (“ND” tab) on the PFD,
non-North Up map pages, and on the traffic
thumbnail on all datablock format pages. Avidyne
recommends selecting a datablock tab on the MFD.
This ensures a dedicated traffic thumbnail is visible
in a usable manner, no matter what the map range
on the HSI or map page may be set to. In all cases,
traffic alerts are also presented via the system
Master Caution alerting on the PFD and in a textual
format in the bottom right corner of each IFD.
Note: Traffic information is presented only as an aid
to visually acquiring traffic. Traffic information and
operational ranges depend on the installed traffic
sensor. Traffic sensors cannot provide traffic
awareness data for aircraft without operating
transponders. It is the pilot’s responsibility to see
and avoid traffic.
Assuming your autopilot reference bugs were set up correctly
during ground ops, all that is required now is to activate the
autopilot in the desired mode after takeoff (e.g. HDG, IAS for
climbing on an assigned heading to a desired altitude at a desired
indicated airspeed or NAV, VS for following FMS guidance along
the flight plan while climbing to an assigned altitude, etc.).
Solid magenta bugs indicate the bug is coupled to, and being
used by, the autopilot or flight director. Hollow magenta bugs
indicate the bug is not coupled to, or being used by, the autopilot
or flight director.
