Normal Checklist Access
The checklist sequence is:
•PREFLIGHT
•BEFORE START
BEFORE TAXI
BEFORE TAKEOFF
AFTER TAKEOFF
•DESCENT
•APPROACH
LANDING
SHUTDOWN
•SECURE
As each normal checklist is completed, the next incomplete normal checklist is
displayed.
Any normal checklist can be accessed using the NORMAL menu.
Normal Checklist Completion
At the completion of each checklist (all steps are complete or overridden), the
appropriate message appears at the bottom of the page:
CHECKLIST COMPLETE (white text on green background)
CHECKLIST OVERRIDDEN (white text on cyan background)
Incomplete Normal Checklist Alerting
An EICAS message is provided to alert the crew when a critical checklist is not
completed before the next phase of flight begins. Alert logic is provided for four
normal checklists. In addition, the normal checklist key in the lower left corner of
the display changes color to amber indicating that one or more normal checklists
is incomplete.
Airlines can customize the incomplete normal checklist alerts to enable or disable
any of the four alerts. Airlines also can customize the names of the normal
checklists associated with each phase. A description of the alert logic for all four
phases is provided in this section, using Boeing baseline checklist names.
Depending on airline customization, available alerts and checklist names may
vary.
Before Taxi Alert - Occurs if the BEFORE TAXI checklist is not complete,
and the airplane is moved under its own power.
Before Takeoff Alert - Occurs if the BEFORE TAKEOFF checklist is not
complete, and the airplane is on the FMC takeoff runway, aligned for
takeoff.
