Operation Manual
FT1020G3 Rev 2.4
77
In TLON Manager, perform the TLON Network programming for the project, i.e.
only the Control Units that will be connected now.
When the TLON Network installation see below is ready, download the SSD.
Later, when one or more Control Units is to be added to the TLON Network:
Open the project in TLON Manager, add the new Control Unit(s) and install
(download) it according to the separate TLON Manual MA437.
Open the SSD in EBLWin, add the Control Unit(s) and download the SSD to all
Control Units.
TLON Network Installation (Single)
a) Create a project in the PC program TLON Manager.
b) Connect a PC to the modular connector "J10" (Network no. 0) in a control unit.
Open the project in TLON Manager and install (download) the project.
For more information see Technical / Operation Manual M437.
A PC is connected to the modular connector "J10" (Network no. 0) in the Control Unit (main
board 5010). Open the project in TLON Manager and install (download) the project, see
separate TLON Technical Manual.
TLON Network Installation (Redundant)
In a redundant network, two Projects must be created and installed. The Projects have to
be identical but with different Project names. One project has to be installed for Network
no. 0 and another project to be installed for Network no. 1.
In a redundant TLON system, a PC is connected to the modular connector "J10" to
download the TLON configuration for Network no. 0 then connected to J11 to download
Network no. 1 configuration.
Note: After the TLON Network installation is completed (download), it is highly
recommended to restart the Control Units.
Add a Control Unit in a TLON Network
When adding a Control Unit to an "existing" installation, the same system software (S/W)
version must be used in all Control Units. Often the new Control Unit has a newer version
than the existing Control Units. Normally the latest version is the best to use, i.e. the
Control Units in the "existing" installation have to be upgraded. As an alternative, it is
possible to download an earlier S/W version in the new Control Unit.
Both options are described in chapter "New system program (S/W) version download",
page 84.
The following procedures are to add a new Control Unit to an existing system:
a) Open the current project in TLON Manager.
b) Add one Control Unit and install (download) as shown in section 18.3.2 above,
refer to the TLON technical manual for more details.
c) Open the SSD for the current system in EBLWin. Add one Control Unit (and the
units connected to it).
d) Download the new SSD according to chapter "Software Download", page 80.
Merge Two TLON Networks
a) Ensure the system properties are the same in the two systems.
b) Ensure that no presentation numbers in the network system are the same.
c) Select one of the systems as the starting point, for example the largest system,
and add the control units and all other units from the other system
57
.
57
It is not possible to merge two TLON Networks into one or copy one system and paste into another system.
