Whenhandlingdieselfuel,observethefollowingprecautions:
1.Donotsmoke.
2.Neverllthetankwhentheengineisrunning.
3.Wipeupspilledfuelimmediately.
Failuretocomplycouldresultindeathorseriousinjury.

Changethefuellterwhenthehourmeterregisters100hoursforanewmachineduringtheinitialrun-inperiod.Fuel
ltersshouldbechangedevery500hoursthereafterormorefrequentlywhenoperatingconditionsaresevere.
Prioroperation:
Keepallunauthorizedpersonnelclearofthearea.Parkthemachineonlevelground,inneutralwiththeparking
brakeapplied,andtheattachmentloweredtotheground.Makesurethatallresidualpressureisrelievedfromcircuits
beforebeginningmaintenance.
1.Locatethefuellterintherightrearaccesscompart-
ment.Closethefuelshutoffvalve(1)topreventfuel
leakage.
2.Cleanthefuellterhead,theoutsideofthefuellter,
andremoveanydirtanddebrisaroundtheareathat
mightcontaminatethesystem.

3.Turnthefuellter(2)counterclockwiseandremove.
Captureanyfuelremaininginthelinesorthefuellter,
anddiscardproperly.
4.Applyathinlayerofcleanoiltothegasketonthenew
fuellter.
5.Installthelter.Useyourhandstotightenthefuellter
1/2to3/4turnafterthefuelltermakescontactwiththe
lterhead.
6.Checkforleaks.
