fortheparticularprocedure.SomePPEthatmaybenecessaryincludesprotectiveshoes,eyeand/or
faceprotection,hardhat,heavygloves,ltermask,andhearingprotection.
Failuretocomplycouldresultindeathorseriousinjury.

Followthemaintenanceintervalsbycheckingthehour
metereveryday.Beforestartingmaintenance,parkthe
machineonat,rmground,awayfromanyobstacles,
withtheattachmentsontheground.Keepallunautho-
rizedpersonnelclearofthearea.Unlessotherwisespec-
ied,allmaintenanceoperationsshouldbecarriedout
with:

theenginestopped
•
themachineparkedonarm,levelsurface
•
theparkingbrakeengaged
•
thekeyremovedfromthekeyswitch
•
a"DONOTOPERATE"tagonthekeyswitch
•
wheelchocksblockingthetracks
•
allcircuitscooleddownpriortostartingwork
•
allhydraulicpressurereleased
•
anyaccumulatorpressurereleasedfortheappropriate
circuit
Cleanthegreasettingsbeforelubrication.Cleanaround
plugsandllerholesbeforeaddinguid.Nodustordirt
mustenterthecomponentsorthecircuits.Wearsuitable
clothing,andusethenecessarysafetyequipment.
PlaceaDoNotOperatetagontheinstrumentpanelor
keyswitchwhenperformingserviceworkonthemachine.
Turnoffengine,andremovethekeybeforeleavingoper-
ator'scompartment.
Anymodicationtothismachinewithoutpriorauthoriza-
tioncouldcauseseriousinjury.Donotmakeanymod-
icationswithoutauthorization.Consultyourauthorized
dealer.
Theserviceintervalsinthischapterrefertonormalop-
eratingconditions.Duringtherstoperationperiodofa
newmachineorrebuiltcomponentandunderparticularly
severeconditions,theserviceintervalsshouldbecarried
outmorefrequently.
Takeparticularcaretoreplaceallltersregularly.Clean
ltersmeanlongerenginerunninglife.
Oilsanduidsmustbedisposedofproperly.
