Cleanthetracksandundercarriageasrequiredorattheendoftheworkshift.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface
topreventdistortionofthetrackseals.Ifthetemperatureiscold,parkthemachineonasurfacethatwillnotfreeze
tothetrackshoes.
Checkthetracktensionat100hourswhenthemachineisnewduringtheinitialrun-inperiodorifthetrackhasbeen
replaced.Checkthetracktensionfrequentlywhenyouoperate.Checkthetracktensionmoreoftenwhenworkingin
extremeconditions.Whenmaterialpacksandcollectsontheundercarriagepartsthetracksmaybecometootight.
Correcttrackadjustmentwillhelpcontrolundercarriagewear.Maintaincorrecttracktension.
Prioroperation:
Keepallunauthorizedpersonnelclearofthearea.Parkthemachineonlevelground,inneutralwiththeparking
brakeapplied,andtheattachmentloweredtotheground.Makesurethatallresidualpressureisrelievedfromcircuits
beforebeginningmaintenance.
Tracktensioncheck
1.Movethemachinebackwardthelengthofthetrack,
andthenforwardthelengthofthetrack.Thiswillmake
thebottomofthetracktight.Bringthemachineslowly
toastop.Donotusethebrakestostopthemachine.
2.Stopthemachinesothatapin(1)inthetrackchainis
overthefrontcarrierroller(2)—therollernearestthe
frontidler.Parkthemachineonlevelground,inneu-
tralwiththeparkingbrakeapplied,andtheattachment
loweredtotheground.Turnofftheengine,andremove
thekey.
3.Standonthetracksbetweenthefrontandrearcarrier
rollers,andthenbetweenthefrontidlerandthefront
carrierroller.

4.Placeastraightedgeoverthetrack,andmeasurethe
trackdeection(sag)midwaybetweenthefrontcarrier
rollerandtheidlerwheel.Thenplaceastraightedge
overthetrack,andmeasurethetrackdeection(sag)
midwaybetweenthetwocarrierrollers.Averagethe
twomeasurementsandadjustthetracktoaveragebe-
tween44.50-58.00mm(1.75-2.25in).
