Ramping Method - External Balance (Syringe)
Note: Syringe weighing is a procedure used for samples that, due to rapid evapora-
tion, cannot achieve a stable weight with standard weighing. In Syringe Mode, the
Phoenix prompts the user to use a syringe or pipette to permit proper initial weight
measurement.
1. Press the START key to begin the method.

2. Press the “Balance” key.

Note: If applicable, use the arrow keys to highlight Select Analysis and press the
SELECT key to toggle and select the appropriate type of analysis – % Ash, % LOI,
% Total Volatile, % ROI or % LOD.
3. Using the arrow keys, highlight Enter New ID. Press the SELECT key.

4. Using the arrow keys, highlight the rst letter or number of the sample identi -
cation. Press the SELECT key. Continue highlighting the letters/numbers (23
maximum) of the ID and pressing the SELECT key until the proper identi ca-
tion is displayed on the screen. Note: When entering numbers, the numeric
keys can be used.
5. Press the NEXT key.
