Why does my Chromate 4300 Laboratory Equipment show 'extra movement needed' or 'plate did not return home'?
    • J
      jennifer61Aug 20, 2025
If your Chromate Laboratory Equipment displays the message 'Extra movement needed at home' or indicates that the plate did not return home, this suggests the assumed position did not return the carrier to its home position. Also, if mech tests had errors, this means that the door in/out test, plate incremental positioning tests, or plate drift check had errors. In such cases, check the mechanism movement.

If your Chromate Laboratory Equipment displays the error 'InchesPerStep not in range' or messages related to 'Pot' settings not acknowledging or returning incorrect values, rerun the FE() command and check the plate for sticking and the plate holes. If the problems persist, contact Customer Service.
