1.3 Operation and Maintenance Personal Safety Requirements
1.3.1 Prerequisites
Qualified O&M personnel must have training, knowledge, and experience in:
 Compliance with all regulations and standards.
 How to assemble, install, and turn on the system, as well as how to ground, prevent short-circuit conditions, and maintain
and disassemble the systems.
 Evaluating O&M procedures and identifying potential hazards.
 Providing rescue assistance for injured personnel during emergencies.
 Selecting and using PPE.
 The ESS maintenance checklist items in this manual.
1.3.2 Responsibility
The O&M personnel must:
 Conduct safety inspections per the instructions in this manual before installation and commissioning. Do NOT power on
or provide any power before inspections are completed.
 Ensure the system is ready and safe to operate before turning on the system.
 Ensure the system is completely de-energized before maintenance using the appropriate equipment.
 Ensure the inspection instruments are calibrated and functioning properly.
 Prevent any unauthorized personnel from accessing the ESS during maintenance..
 Ensure the safety warning labels and product nameplates are not damaged.
