1.3.3 Operation and Maintenance Safety Instructions
O&M of the ESS must be done by qualified personnel ONLY.
Check for any hazardous situations before operating and maintaining the equipment.
Ensure the cabinet door is closed and do NOT touch any conductors while the system is operating.
Do NOT start maintenance on the system until at least five (5) minutes after completely shutting down the system.
Turn OFF all external circuit breakers using lockout/tagout procedures before maintenance.
Ensure all components are de-energized before maintenance of the system.
At any given time during maintenance, ensure at least two (2) authorized professional personnel are on-site.
After maintenance is completed, ensure that no tools are left on or inside the system.
Cabinet door keys must be pulled out and kept in a safe place before leaving the site.
Ensure appropriate safety precautions and PPE are used during maintenance.
Never touch the live conductors, which can cause serious injury or death due to high battery DC voltage and AC voltage.
Disconnect all AC and DC sources before servicing; ensure that hazardous high voltage and energy inside the equipment
has been discharged.
Never touch the battery electrodes, as the high short-circuit current and electrical shock hazards can cause serious injury.
Do not conduct maintenance during rainy weather.
Keep the ESS away from flammable and explosive substances.
