1.2 Owner Safety Requirements
WARNING: ARC FLASH HAZARD
There is an arch flash hazard associated with all electrical equipment and an increased risk of arc flash with
any equipment modification (e.g., open doors). Serious injury can occur in arc flash incidents; appropriate
PPE and training per local codes and regulations is required..
WARNING: FIRE HAZARD
Fire is possible under certain extreme fault conditions.
Personnel installing and/or operating the energy storage system MUST BE qualified electricians or those who have
received professional training. Failure to follow the instructions in this manual and other relevant safety procedures could
result in DEATH or SERIOUS INJURY.
Qualified personnel operating the ESS must have training, knowledge, and experience in:
o Installing electrical equipment and energy storage systems.
o The instructions and safety procedures in this manual.
o Applying all local electrical codes and standards.
o Selecting and using PPE.
Regularly check and maintain the safety equipment (e.g., circuit breakers, isolation switches, etc.) in the system to ensure
they all operate normally and reliably.
Immediately replace any damaged warning signs or labels on the equipment.
Keep the ESS away from flammable and explosive substances.
Fire extinguishers must be readily available on-site.
Make sure the ESS has solid and reliable grounding.
Transportation, installation, and commissioning must be performed only by qualified personnel.
Carefully evaluate any hazardous situations (e.g., equipment damage) that may impact the ESS before operating.
Qualified personnel operating the ESS must read and fully understand the safety instructions in this manual.
Do NOT change the software or modify the chassis or other internal components without manufacturer’s approval. Any
unauthorized change or modifications will void the equipment warranty and can cause equipment malfunction or damage.
Do NOT remove the sealing sticker on the side of the PCS inverter modules.
Do NOT tap, drill, puncture, or attach anything to the equipment enclosures.
