5.6 Inspections Before Startup
Before startup and operation, the installation of the ESS must be thoroughly checked for the following:
All cables are properly crimped, no strands are exposed, cable insulation is not damaged, all cables are properly bent
without damage, and all screws are properly torqued.
The system and internal components are properly grounded and the resistance measurement are below the specified
threshold.
The battery modules' polarity is correct and the battery cabinet is properly grounded.
All AC and DC switches are turned OFF.
All circuit breakers connected to the energy storage system and/or inside the energy storage system cabinets (both PCS
and battery) are turned OFF.
The UPS is OFF.
The AC voltage is within the normal operating range on the incoming grid side.
Ensure the emergency stop button is in the "released" state.
The DC isolation switch on the battery cabinet HV control box is in the OFF position and the HV control box is powered
off.
The multi-meter reading is 0 Vdc between HV+/HV- on the HV control box side and 0 VDC between the DC+/DC- across
the PCS cabinet DC busbar.
NOTE: Do NOT measure anything before ensuring all switches and breakers are in the OFF position.
The resistance between the HV+/HV- on the HV control box side and DC+/DC- across the PCS cabinet DC busbar is
infinite.
Insert one MSD per pack and do not bend the thin pins inside.
