Install Supplies
To prepare the printer to print cards, install the ink ribbon and retransfer film on the appropriate
cartridges, install a cleaning sleeve into the printer, and load blank card stock into the input
hopper.
Install the Ink Ribbon
The printer uses the ink ribbon to print the card images onto the retransfer film.
Do the following to load the ink ribbon.
1. Remove the ink ribbon cartridge from the printer.
2. Place the ink ribbon cartridge on a flat surface
with the spindles facing up.
3. Open the ink ribbon package and remove the ink
ribbon. Hold the ribbon cores and pull them up
from the package base.
If your system includes the optional laminator, also load overlay material into the L1
and L2 (if equipped) laminators. Refer to “Load Laminator Overlay Material” on
page A-13, for information about loading the laminator cartridges.
Each ink ribbon package also includes the following:
A new cleaning sleeve. Refer to “Install the Cleaning Sleeve” on page 22.
An isopropanol-coated cleaning card. Refer to the printer’s User’s Guide for
information about when to use the cleaning card.
