4. Description of on-board systems
4.1 Machine installation
The Dehler 39 can be equipped with different machine installations. The table shows you the
relevant data. At the same time we would like to refer to the extensive information of the
company YANMAR. As skipper, you should be able to use the safety and maintenance
indications.

In front of the installation. the engine room’s partition walls are insulated. The engine is
accessible through the bulkhead behind the companion way. In addition you can open a flap
door in the shower room and in the rear cabin to get access to all relevant components of the
engine. After removing the rear wall flap door in the rear cabin you get access to the oil
measuring rod of the gear.
4.1.1 Exhaust system
The yacht is equipped with a wet exhaust system, meaning that in the exhaust bend pipe sea
cooling water gets injected, which cools the exhaust fumes. This mix is guided downwards to
the silencer/water collector – mounted under the double berth. The hose-pipe goes further
towards the port and creates a swan neck in front of the inside of the port side mirror.
The exhaust pipe is made of synthetic rubber with a steel spiral. The hose pipe is heat-
resistant, although with certain limits. Do not interrupt the sea water supply. Therefore, the
continuous suplly without obstacles should be checked. The hose pipe is fixed on all
connection points with two braces.
Within the storage spaces the hose pipe gets partially covered, so as to avoid direct contact
between stored parts or components and the hose pipe.
