5.3 Firefighting
If in spite of all protection measures a fire starts on the yacht, you should behave as follows:
All persons who cannot actively fight against the fire, should go on deck, either
− via the companion way, or
when a fire starts in the pantry or the engine room
− through the escape hatch over the bow berth
−
5.4 In case of a fire in the pantry
Immediately close the gas supply valve!
Extinguish the flames with the fire-extinguishing ceiling. It can be re-used afterwards. When
elements of the decoration are on fire, you should use the fire extinguisher.
5.5 in case of a fire in the engine room
First close the fuel supply valve in the tank room from the navigation seat.
Don´t remove the companion way and don’t open the companion way bulkhead.
You will find a tap in the companion way bulkhead. Remove this tap. You’ll see a small
opening. Just place the snout of the fire extinguisher into this hole and empty the fire
extinguisher completely.
Wait a few minutes before opening the engine room, to check the damage.
5.6 In case of a fire in the living space
Here too the fire extinguisking ceiling can serve.
You should always have a piston pump in the equipment locker to activate the foam fire
extinguisher in emergencies.

both fire extinguishers are easily accessible and
that all persons on board know about the
• Setup and use of fire extinguishers and fire extinguishing ceiling,
• Location and function of the extinguishing hole for the engine room,
• Exit via the bow hatch.
