4.8 Rudder system
The rudder system only needs minimum maintenance. The rudder blade with rudder shaft is
guided in an upper and lower bearing. The rudder movement gets transmitted from the
steering column through a rudder quadrant with two transmission levers with a return bearing.
This combination is highly sensitive and direct. The rudder is held by a rudder calking ring,
supported by a bearing in the rudder hole.In addition the rudder shaft gets sealed through a
shaft joint in the rudder hole.
