4.7.4 Piston pump
A piston pump is an excellent bilging device. Every boat should have one on board and it
should añways be accessible in the locker.
LOOK OUT
The yacht is equipped with a hand bilging
system. The pump handle, placed under the
port side locker cover, is easily accessible.
4.7.5 Electric bilge pump
In addition we installed a Whale 9000 electric bilge pump with a capacity of 90 l/min.. the
suction filter (2) is placed under the rear cabin couch. The outlet is placed at the rear of the
starboard cockpit. You´ll find the switch amongst the group of switches on the navigation
panel.
WARNING
The total pump capacity will probably not be
sufficient to bilge the boat in case of a collision
with floating objects. Take your measures for
such exceptional events through leak seals
and other devices.
HINT
Both bilge systems con only work if the suction filters are clearly under
water. Small quantities of water should be bilged with a sponge or a
dustpan.
