Manual DEHLER 39
35 - 72
The cold water gets guided to the insulated heat exchanger by the pressure pump. The
pressure balancing deposit in the cold water cycle serves also for the hot water inlet. The
water in the heat exchanger gets heated by the hot water of the engine. This way the wash-
basin, pantry and eventually the cockpit shower get supplied.
4.3.1 Heat exchanger – cold-resistant
In case of frost risk, the heat exchanger should be drained. In comparison with the attached
instruction manual we improved the installation and made it more user-friendly. The sketch
shows you the construction. When normally running, the valves are set as shown.
In case you need to drain the heat exchanger, the valve (4) of the water tank has to be closed
as well as the cold water inlet valve (6). Then you should open the ventilation valve (12) on
the heat exchanger and finally the valve (5) of the suction pipe of the heat exchanger. If you
open the sink’s cold water valve, the water pump will start and drain the heat exchanger.
