Chapter 5 Troubleshooting Guide
After completing the above, touch the pickup air adjustment key and check that paper is suctioned by
the suction box.
• If the suction strength is weak, increase the pickup air strength.
• If the suction strength is too strong, decrease the pickup air strength.
If the pickup air strength is too strong, it may cause problems such as double-feed, and misalignment of
paper in collated sets.

Start operations.
If double-feed or miss feed occurs when feeding paper, perform the following adjustments.
<Double-feed>
• The rst and second sheets are fed together because the separating air is too strong.
Decrease the strength of the separating air.
• During paper feed, the paper bin rises without air blown between the paper sheets, and this causes
the paper sheets to rise suddenly and be fed without being separately adequately.
Increase the separating air strength and lower the level sensor position. If the problem still persists
even after the above adjustments, decrease the processing speed.
<Miss-feed>
• Paper sheets are not separated during paper feed and fail to rise in time for feeding.
Increase the separating air strength and lower the level sensor position. If the problem still persists
even after the above adjustments, decrease the processing speed.
1-9. Emergency Stop Switch Was Pressed
After pressing the emergency stop switch, clear the stopped state by following the procedures below.
For details on how to reset the emergency stop switch of downstream units, refer to their instruction
manuals.
