3.2.9 Length of connecting cable
In order to ensure measuring accuracy, comply with the following instructions when installing the
remote version:
Secure the cable run or route the cable in a conduit. Movement of the cable can falsify the
measuring signal, particularly if the fluid conductivity is low.
Route the cable well clear of electrical machines and switching elements.
Ensure potential equalization between sensor and transmitter, if necessary.
The permissible cable length L
max
depends on the fluid conductivity ( å 16, å 17).
The maximum connecting cable length is 10 m (32.8 ft) when empty pipe detection
(EPD ä 117) is switched on.
