3.2.9 Length of connecting cable
In order to ensure measuring accuracy, comply with the following instructions when installing the
remote version:
• Secure the cable run or route the cable in a conduit. Movement of the cable can falsify the
measuring signal, particularly if the fluid conductivity is low.
• Route the cable well clear of electrical machines and switching elements.
• Ensure potential equalization between sensor and transmitter, if necessary.
• The permissible cable length L

depends on the fluid conductivity ( å 16,  å 17).
• The maximum connecting cable length is 10 m (32.8 ft) when empty pipe detection
(EPD  ä 117) is switched on.
