3.3.10 Installing the sound velocity measuring sensors DDU 18

1. Fix a tensioning band for small or large nominal diameters as described on
Page 17. The two threaded studs must be positioned opposite each other on either
side of the pipe.
2. Push the sensor holder onto the pipe over the threaded studs and tighten the
locking nut using a spanner (AF 13).
3. Coat the contact surfaces of the sensors with an even (approx. 1 mm thick) layer of
coupling fluid starting from the groove, through the centre and to the opposite side
(see Page 117). Then carefully insert the sensors into the sensor holders. Press the
sensor cover onto the sensor holder until you hear a click. Make sure that the arrows
(
▲ / ▼ “close”) on the sensor housing and sensor holder are pointing to each other.
Then insert the sensor cable plug into the opening provided and manually tighten
the plug to the stop.
