Notes on Moving and
Transporting
Note the following points when moving or transporting
the printer.

Important:
❏ Only hold the required area; otherwise, the
printer may be damaged.
❏ Move and transport the printer with ink
cartridges installed. Do not remove the ink
cartridges; otherwise, the nozzles may be
clogged and make it impossible to print, or ink
may leak.
Preparing to Move the Printer
This section explains how to move the printer within a
short distance such as on the same floor.
A
Turn on the printer, wait for a while, and then
turn it off.
The print head moves to the capping position.

Important:
If you unplug the power cable from the electric
outlet when the printer is on, the print head
does not move to the capping position. Make
sure you turn off the printer using the P
button.

Remove the following items from the printer.
❏ Power cable
❏ Interface cable
❏ Media
❏ Optional roll paper unit
Remove the optional roll paper unit by
performing the installation procedure in reverse.

Preparing the Printer for
Transport
To protect the printer from shock and vibration when
transporting, attach protective material to the printer
using commercially available tape, and repack it the
same way it was packed when purchased.
Make sure you prepare easily-removable tape (masking
tape and so on) in advance. Some tape may be difficult to
remove if it is left in place for an extended period.
Remove immediately after transportation is complete.

See the previous section, "Preparing to Move the
Printer", to cap the print head and remove the
items from the printer.

Press the front cover.
The front cover opens automatically when it is
pressed.
C
If you have changed the angle of the control
panel, press and return it to its original position.
