CHAPTER 7
Description of the graphical interface of the APC 300
Controlling argon flow, controlling all functions, programming the flow parameters of the
instruments
Introduction
The APC 300 is a machine with software support. A graphical interface known
as a shell serves as an interface between the user and the software. By means
of the shell the standard display can be accessed. With its help, the COAG
flow and CUT flow of the instrument can be controlled as well as all functions
of the APC 300. In addition, the shell provides access to the programs. Using
the programs, the APC 300 can be adapted to your requirements and to the
environment. For instance, the program Display brightness can be used to
adapt the brightness of the display to lighting conditions in the room.
The program structure of the APC 300 is nested. However, it only consists of
3 levels. Folding leaf 2 shows the nesting and helps to orient the user. Under
the heading Finding your way around in the program structure, this chapter
provides examples to clearly illustrate how to reach any particular menu in
the program structure.
The shell allows the unit to be operated in an intuitive manner. However,
please bear in mind that the APC 300 operates in a range of several thousand
volts. It is not a word processor with which you can experiment all you want.
In order to work safely and effectively, you should be familiar with all symbols,
the function of the keys, the program structure and also the meaning of the
error messages before beginning operation.
