Maintenance of the appliance and re-usable accessories
Maintenance of the appliance and the reusable accessories comprises pre-
ventive and corrective measures. The safety checks represent preventive mea-
sures. Alterations and repairs are corrective measures.
Regular maintenance of the appliance and accessories is intended to guarantee
safety and functionality at least until the next maintenance appointment. All
maintenance must be recorded in the appliance log.
Safety checks
The APC 300 should be checked for safety at least once a year. It is
recommended that safety checks of the APC 300 and of the electrosurgical
unit be carried out together.
The following safety checks should be carried out on theAPC 300:
• Function check of the cylinder valve

Function check of the pressure reducer
• Check of the gas hoses
•
Check on the leak-tightness of all connections
•
Safety check on the protective conductor connections
• Safety check on the leakage current
•
Function check of all optical signals
• Function check of foot switches and finger switches
System diagnosis programs
• Tone generator test
•
Display test
• Checking keyboard
• Testing actuation signals
•
Display of output pressure
• Flow measurement region 1
•
Flow measurement regions 2 and 3
• Display of pressure in cylinder 1
•
Display of pressure in cylinder 2
