Purge instrument with argon
Accept or alter CUT flow / COAG
flow
After the system test has been completed the standard display of the APC
300 appears.
If you leave the standard display of the APC 300 using the enter key the unit
cannot be activated. In order to do this, it is necessary first to return to the
standard display.
Quick start
You can now begin working with the APC 300. You can examine the additio-
nal functions of the unit, but you do not have to.
The APC 300 possesses an instrument identification facility. For each
instrument a COAG flow and CUT flow are automatically set. These are
shown in the display. Before the instrument is actuated for the first time, it
must be purged with argon. Purge time and Purge flow are also set
automatically.
Press the purge key and purge the instrument with argon.
Anything displayed on a green background can be altered. The CUT flow /
COAG flow can be altered before and during actuation.
If you wish to alter settings before actuation, switch between COAG flow
and CUT flow displays by lightly touching the respective foot or finger switch.
The CUT flow / COAG flow are set using the up / down keys. They are set
in defined steps:
Between 0.1 and 1 l each step is 0.1 l
Between 1 and 4 l each step is 0.2 l
Between 5 and 9 l each step is 0.5 l
A hidden value for maximum COAG flow / CUT flow exists for each
instrument. The maximum parameters cannot be exceeded by the user and,
for safety reasons, cannot be altered either.
The APC 300 will not store alterations to CUT flow / COAG flow.
A full cylinder is displayed. This merely signifies that there is an input pressure
of 2.5 bar (36.25 psi) as required. If the input pressure falls under 2.5 bar
(36.25 psi), an empty cylinder is displayed. The unit will not assume more
control function over the argon supply.
If one or two argon cylinders are connected to the APC 300, this is shown in
the display by numbers 1 and 2. The active cylinder is indicated by an arrow.
The cylinder symbols are more or less filled in to reflect the approximate
contents of the cylinders. If two cylinders are connected and one is empty,
the APC 300 automatically switches to the second cylinder. Empty cylinders
flash on and off.
Connect instruments and
begin working
