Utility Functions Menu
The Setup Menu softkey UTILITY FUNCTNS (Utility Functions) gives access to Self
Test, Format Nonvolatile Memory, and Instrument Configuration.

SELF TEST
This softkey opens a menu with Calibrator self-test selections.
FORMAT NV MEM (Format Nonvolatile Memory)
Opens a menu to put all or part of the data in the nonvolatile memory (EEPROM) to
factory defaults.
INSTMT CONFIG (Instrument Configuration)
Lets you see the versions of software installed in the Calibrator as well as the user-
entered report string.
Use the NV Memory Menu
Caution
The Format Nonvolatile Memory menu softkeys permanently
erase calibration constants. If you push ALL or CAL, this will
invalidate the condition of calibration of the 5502A.
Push FORMAT NV MEM in the utility functions menu to open:

It is necessary that the rear-panel CALIBRATION switch to be in the ENABLE position
for the ALL and CAL softkeys in this menu. The nonvolatile memory has calibration
constants and dates, setup parameters, and the user report string. With calibration
constants, factory defaults are the same for all calibrators. They are not the calibration
constants received when the Calibrator was calibrated by the factory before shipment.
