reduces
the
level
required
to trip
the
Attenuator/
RPP, so it
trips on
the
Generator’s
own
output.
This
provides
a
convenient
way to
verify
the
operation
of the
entire
trip
circuitry,
although
at a reduced
trip
level
To
cheek
the trip
function
with
TP3
shorted,
it
is
best to
program
the
Generator
to an
output
level of
+ 10 dBm;
then,
program
it for
fixed
amplitude
range
([SPCLir9ir
1
1). This
allows
the
level
to
be varied
from
a low value
up to
the maximum
value
without
any
transients
that
might
outherwise
trip
the
RPP.
Then,
starting
at a
low level,
such
as
-10
dBM
(with the
RPP
reset),
increase
(EDIT)
the
UUT level
in 1 dB
steps
until
the RPP
trips. RPP
trip
normally
occurs
between
+10
and +15
dPm.
