1.3 CUSTOM PROGRAMMABILITY 1.3.1 INTRODUCTION
The LPS-O offers a high degree of custom programmability. Custom programming of the LPS-O relay is
accomplished using the Xpression Builder software. Xpression Builder is a Windows based program that
allows the user to graphically design Programmable Logic and create I/O (Input/Output) assignments for the
LPS-O and other GE Power Management relays. Xpression Builder is included on the GE Power Management
CD-ROM or may be downloaded from the GE Power Management website. A complete description of the LPS-
O custom programming features and Xpression Builder is included in Chapter 13: XPRESSION BUILDER
.
1.3.2 CONFIGURABLE INPUTS
All of the contact converters (Digital Inputs) in the LPS-O are user configurable. However, each LPS-O relay is
shipped with the Default Contact Converter Assignments shown in Table 1–3: LPS-O DEFAULT CONTACT
CONVERTER ASSIGNMENTS below and the elementary diagram Figure 1–11: ELEMENTARY DIAGRAM on
page 1–25.
1.3.3 CONFIGURABLE OUTPUTS
All of the output relays in the LPS-O, except the alarm output relays, are user-configurable. However, each
LPS-O relay is shipped with the Default Output Relay Assignments shown in Table 1–4: LPS-O DEFAULT
OUTPUT CONTACT ASSIGNMENTS below and the elementary diagram Figure 1–11: ELEMENTARY DIA-
GRAM on page 1–25.
