1. Turn the key switch ON (2). With the key switch ON, when
the coolant temperature is lower than approx. 20 °C, the
engine is automatically preheated.
2. Preheat indicator (1) comes ON. As long as preheat indi
-
cator (1) stays ON, the engine is being heated.
NOTE: Preheating time varies depending on the coolant tem
-
perature.

Preheating time -5 °C Approx. 3 seconds
-20 °C Approx. 20 seconds
3. As soon as the preheat indicator (1) goes OFF, turn the
key switch to the START position (3) to rotate the starter.
As soon as the engine starts, release the key switch.
The key switch will automatically return to the ON (2) po
-
sition.
After starting the engine, perform warm-up operation as
described on page 3-8.
