Check the fan belt for any abnormality. If any cracks are found,
replace the belt with a new one.
Check fan belt tension by depressing the midpoint between
tension pulley (1) and alternator pulley (2) with the thumb.
Deflection must be 8 to 12 mm with a depression force of ap
-
proximately 98 N (10 kgf).
Fan belt tension on ZW180 and ZW310 is automatically ad

justed.
1. Loosen the adjustment plate of alternator (3) and the
mounting bolt of alternator (4).
2. Move alternator (5) backward or forward until belt ten
-
sion is correct.
3. Securely tighten the bolt.
NOTE: When a new belt is installed, be sure to readjust the
tension after operating the engine for 3 to 5 minutes
at slow idle speed to be sure that the new belt is seated
correctly.
