WU-870 Antenna and Receiver Transmitter Unit (See Figures 8-8 and 8-9,
and Table 8-4.)
The WU-870 Antenna and Receiver Transmitter Unit generates and receives
X-band radio frequency energy
for the purposes of weather detection and
ground mapping.
The WU-870 incorporates an 18-inch flat-plate antenna
and contains all the circuitry required for transmitting, receiving,
signal processing, scan conversion, serial data, and control interface

to the other system components as well as the EDS.
