Steps Troubleshooting Action
The product
does not
start the
start motor
when the
key is
switched on.
Deck
engaged.
1 Make sure that the lift lever is in upper position.
P-brake not
activated.
2 Check P-brake. Activate P-brake.
Battery
voltage.
3 Make sure that the 15A fuse is intact. Replace fuse.
4 Measure the battery voltage, >12.0V. Charge battery.
5 Measure the voltage of the red cable to the
ignition switch. The voltage should be equal to
the battery voltage.
Repair the cable or
replace the cabling.
Starter relay. 6 Check the thin brown cable between igntion
switch and the starter relay.
Repair the cable or
replace the cabling.
7 Check the black cable between the starter relay
and the battery -.
Repair the cable or
replace the cabling.
8 Measure the voltage of the thin brown cable to
the starter relay. When the key is switch is turned
to START, it should be battery voltage in the
cable.
Replace the ignition
switch.
9 Measure the resistance of the relay. It should be
3.7-4.2 Ohm.
Replace the starter
relay.
P-brake
switch.
10 Check the P-brake microswitch. Replace the
microswitch.
Lift lever
switch.
11 Check that the microswitch changes the position
when the lift lever is lifted.
Replace the micro
switch.
Wiring fault. 12 Measure the resistance between the thin black
cable to the starter relay and the negative battery
terminal. If P-brake is activated and lift the lever
raised, it should be low resistance.
Go to point 13.
13 Measure the resistance between the black cable
to the starter relay and the contact to the wiring to
the pedal plate 1 pin. It should be low resistance.
Repair the cable or
replace the cabling.
14 Measure the resistance between the harness to
the pedal plate pin 5 and the negative battery
terminal.It should be low resistance.
Repair the cable or
replace the cabling.
15 Measure the resistance between the harness to
the pedal plate pin 2 and the negative battery
terminal. If the lift lever is raised, it should be low
resistance.
Repair the cable or
replace the cabling.
16 Check that the grounding point on the engine are
rmly tightened.
Tighten the ground
cable.
The product
will not start
despite the
start motor
working.
Wiring fault. 17 Check that the yellow cable to the engine get
voltage from the battery when the key switch is in
ignition position.
Repair the cable or
replace the cabling.
18 Check that the grounding point on the engine are
rmly tightened.
Repair the cable or
replace the cabling.
The product
stops when
the P-brake
is
deactivated.
Fault in seat
switch.
19 Measure the resistance between the black cable
to the motor and ground. With no-one sitting in
the seat, the resistance should be low and high
when there is someone in the seat.
Check the seat switch
and connector,
replace if necessary.
