Failure to adopt the previous procedure can result in increased chance of “clean
streaks,” ber shrinkage, brown-out and longer drying periods.
OVERWETTING
Overwetting is annoying to all concerned, and sometimes leaves the customer with a bad
impression of the cleaning process used.
These are several conditions that will cause over-wetting
1. Too few vacuum strokes or improper saw-tooth vacuum strokes as shown in
Figure 2-2.
2. Obstructed, cut or kinked hoses.
3. Vacuum tank drain valve left partially open.
4. Clogged vacuum blower lter or vacuum tank lid not sealing properly.
5. Cleaning a heavily foam-saturated carpet without defoamer.
