There is a problem with the keyboard.
Find the type of keyboard you are using in the following table. Then follow the
instructions given in the Action column.
Keyboard Type Action
Type 101 keyboard (U.S.). Identify by the size of
the Enter key. The Enter key is in only one
horizontal row of keys.
Record error code M0KBD001; then go to
“Step 1020-3”.
Type 102 keyboard World Trade (W.T.). Identify
by the size of the Enter key. The Enter key
extends into two horizontal rows.
Record error code M0KBD002; then go to
“Step 1020-3”.
Type 106 keyboard. (Identify by the Japanese
characters.)
Record error code M0KBD003; then go to
“Step 1020-3”.
ASCII terminal keyboard Go to the documentation for this type of
ASCII terminal and continue problem
determination.
Step 1020-3
Take the following actions:
1. Find the 8-digit error code in Chapter 5, “Error Code to FRU Index”, on page 115.
Note: If the 8-digit error code is not listed in Chapter 5, “Error Code to FRU Index”,
on page 115, look for it in the following:
v Any supplemental service manual for the device
v The diagnostic problem report screen
v The Service Hints service aid
v The CEREADME file (by using the Service Hints service aid).
