q  Push [V/M/C] repeatedly to sequen-
tially select the VFO mode, memory 
mode, call channel mode or weather 
channel mode*.

quency or select a desired channel.
D VFO mode
The VFO mode is used to set the desired frequency.
What is VFO?
VFO is an abbreviation of Variable Frequency Oscillator. Fre-
quencies for both transmitting and receiving are generated 
and controlled by the VFO.
D Memory mode
Memory mode is used for opera-
tion on memory channels which 
store programmed frequencies.
•“
   
” appears when memory mode 
is selected.
•Only programmed memory chan-
nels can be selected.
•Enterthechannelnumberdirectlytoselectthedesiredmemory

D Call channel mode
Select a call channel to operate 
on one of your two most often-
used frequencies. 
•“C0” or “C1” appears instead of the 
memory channel number when the 
Call channel mode is selected.
D Weather channel mode*
There are 10 weather channels 
for  monitoring  weather  broad-
casts  from  NOAA  (National 
Oceanic  and  Atmospheric  Ad-
ministration).
