3. Option and Accessory Kit Integration and Service
Purpose
This chapter provides instructions for the integration of system components within a server chassis that has
the server board and other system components pre-installed. It includes installation instructions for
supported system options and other available accessory option kits.
Before You Begin
Before working with a server product, observe the safety and ESD precautions found in the Warnings section
at the beginning of this manual.
Tools and Supplies Needed
• Anti-static wrist strap and conductive foam pad (recommended)
• Phillips* (cross head) screwdriver (#2 bit)
System Reference
All references to left, right, front, top, and bottom assume you are facing the front of the chassis.
Cable Routing
See Appendix B for reference.

Each procedure described in this section follows an “illustration-first” format. This format gives you the option
to follow a quicker path to system integration by first seeing an illustration of the intended procedure. If
necessary, you can then follow the step-by-step instructions that accompany each procedure.
