Transmission Operation - Series 1 Machines
Neutral
K Fig 20. ( T E-25)
With the engine running, charge pump P2 draws oil
through the suction strainer S and feeds the oil into the
transmission circuit, via non-return valves Pd and Pe, to
make up any oil loss. The supply and pressure of oil is
controlled by charge valve Pa. Excess oil is returned via
cooler C to the tank T.
As the pump swash plate is in the neutral position there is
no delivery from the pump and the machine remains
stationary.
The machine is prevented from moving by oil locked up in
the pump/motor circuit.
