Power Track Rod
Removal and Replacement
Removal

WARNING
Make the machine safe before working underneath it.
Park the machine on level ground, lower the
attachments to the ground. Apply the park brake, put
the transmission in neutral and stop the engine. Block
both sides of all four wheels.
Disconnect the battery, to prevent the engine being
started while you are beneath the machine.

Lifting Equipment
You can be injured if you use faulty lifting equipment.
Make sure that lifting equipment is in good condition.
Make sure that lifting tackle complies with all local
regulations and is suitable for the job. Make sure that
lifting equipment is strong enough for the job.

The ram may be dismantled without removing it from the
machine.
1 Remove the front apron.
2 Remove front axle
K Front Axle ( T F-7).
3 Slacken nuts A. With the nut still fitted, tap the
underneath of the swivel to release the taper from the
steering arm. Repeat for the other side.
4 Disconnect the ram feed hoses at B, labelling them to
ensure correct replacement.
5 Support the power track rod.
6 Remove 4 bolts C and discard.
7 Remove the power track rod from the axle.
Replacement
Replacement is a reversal of the removal procedure.
Apply JCB High Strength Threadlocker to threads of bolts
C and tighten to correct torque.
